Ms. Katrina Miller (left) presented Vice Chancellor Elizabeth Keith (middle) with three LEED Gold Certificates — one for each of the Hawaiʻi Tokai campus buildings — on July 27, 2017. Hawaiʻi Tokai International College is the only educational institution in Hawaiʻi whose entire campus is “Gold” certified. Ms. Miller was the project’s LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) consultant with her company, Lensa Consulting. She is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council Hawaiʻi chapter.
The Hawaiʻi Tokai International College campus features new LEED Gold Certified Buildings that are spacious and fitted with photo-voltaic solar panels. The LEED certification judges building development and addresses sustainability issues through a points assessment.
